DEAR DOROTHY

Dear Dorothy is a branding project for a bric-à-brac market located on Douglas Way in Deptford, a site with a rich history of selling everything from everyday cleaning products to antique silverware.

I developed the market’s visual identity, delivering a complete branding suite including custom type design, promotional merchandise, web design and social media assets. The goal was to present the market as an uplifting and unexpectedly fun experience, while preserving its raw, unfiltered character.

To achieve this, I designed a bespoke typeface based on handwritten postcards sold at various stalls. Each letter was individually scanned from different handwriting skills, resulting in a bold, nostalgic, and intentionally imperfect aesthetic that reflects the quirky, chaotic charm of the market itself.
